Sunset in the Amazon

Taking a boat trip on the Amazon River sounds like a dream to most people.
In October I however decided to get a bit off the beaten track and take a boat from Trinidad to Guayaramerín in Bolivia and from there another boat from Porto Velho to Manaus.
Those boats are really and I mean really crowded and I will post a photo some day soon of the sleeping facilities on board.
This photo is from the last day on the trip and we just happened to be at the spot where Rio Madeira meets Rio Amazonas at sunset. At the same time there was a small fire in te forest which made an interesting effect in the photo. |
