The mark visible in the church's wall is the level of the last flood in the Amazon River. (the worst flood in 100 years).

Considero esta uma das melhores entre as tantas excelentes que vc postou até o momento, Paulo. Parece uma pintura!
Extraordinária nitidez, e uma (falsa) impressão de que a igreja estava lá para posar para você.

Linda composição ...
Lembro de algumas que já postei para o TE e TL, lá na Praia dos Carneiros (PE), de dentro do rio (lado fluvial) com imagem para uma bela capelinha (como essa que está aí na foto!). A daqui (dos Carneiros)é a de São Benedito, que alguns também a chamam da Conceição. Essa da foto, a amazonense, deve ter alguma "Santa" que não impediu que a última cheia a invadisse, causando alguns danos, pelo que vejo nas marcas da pintura...
Bela apresentação, Paulo, uma ótima série!

A enchente passou e as marcas ficaram. As flores tão vermelhas já não sentem mais a fúria das águas e deixam sua beleza alegrando o ambiente. É hora de recomeçar. A igrejinha aí está pronta para receber os seus fiéis. Uma bonita foto, ótima luz e nitidez. Parabéns!

Uma foto excelente. Incrível como tudo se recupera após a fúria da natureza. Ficam as marcas, mas as flores se renovam lindamente e os prédios que conseguiram ficam em pé guardam uma história da eterna luta da natureza e do homem. Beleza de captura.

Unexpected to see the church in the middle of the jungle. I hope the flooding didn't do too much damage to the interior of the church. The red bush is very eye-catching too.

A simplicidade da igrejinha e a árvore toda florida ao lado são bons espetáculos.
Mas a marca do nível da água do rio na parede e na árvore mais próxima denunciam bem o lugar do Brasil onde você fez o registro.

Sometimes I guess during the worst flooding in monsoon the local people will be looking for spiritual comfort. Churches have a very important community function. The water marks are telling the story. The red flower scrub is a highlight of the well compose photograph. Crisp and sharp as usual. Well done

I wonder what was on their mind, building a church in this odd location!
I guess the explanation is the the house of worship is built for access by the river rather than by land...
An interesting documentary and a well composed presentation!

Linda igrejinha, me faz lembrar as da Ana (adores). Só que aqui temos a versão barrenta - a gente vê direitinho o nível da água na enchente!
Gostei da composição com a igreja de um lado e a árvore dando acabamento do outro. E este tufo abundante em flores, no meio.
