Photography taken on the area of Mazagão, on heart of Amazon rainforest.

"Mazagão" have a very interesting history:

The city was named after the Portuguese colony Mazagão in North Africa, now "El Jadida", which the Portuguese abandoned in 1769. Many of its inhabitants were evacuated to Brazil, where they founded a new settlement "Nova Mazagão", on the hearth of the amazon forest.

não sabia da hist. de mazagão, legal saber.. quanto à foto, muito bem colocado o canoeiro, bela vista que mostra o entrosamento entre o ambiente e os seus habitantes

Nossa a população saiu da Africa para a região do Amazonas, interessante. Mas sabe dizer porque foram parar tão longe e não na costa do Brasil?

Deve ser legal navegar nessas canoas (existe um nome específico para elas?) nesse "marzão" doce.

The lights on water surface are wonderful with splendid effect of Amazon River's muddy water. Your capture is another good caught with red interior of boat and his red hat while young boy busy for moving his boat.

Olá Paulo, estas tuas fotos da amazónia fazem-me lembrar os meus passeios de barco pelos rios remotos do Laos. Gente simples com vidas simples longe de grandes centros urbanos. A simplicidade desta embarcação diz tudo. Boa captura.

a very simple presentation of a grpahical effect of the oarsboy.
The ripples is very effective in giving the contrast to the orange capped boy.

Hello Paulo,
beautiful picture of this lonely oarsman on the quiet Amazon. I like the light reflections on the dark water and your framing. Yesterday I saw a report about the incredible "pororoca". This quite rare spring tide can grow up to 4 meters and runs up to 65 kilometers per hour. A paradise for surfers, who are prepared to take risks.
