Photographer's Note

Here we have a view took from São José de Macapá fort, a fort build by Portuguese (1764-1782) to protect the northern side of the mouth of Amazon river. Here we can see the largest river of the world, the ocean is located many kilometers ahead, pushed by the sweet waters of the giant river. In the background we can see the older pier of the town (Trapiche Elieser Levy). There is a restaurant there, where I had a luch.
Macapá city has 407,000 inhabitants, it is the capital of Amapá state and it is cut by Equator line.
