Love and Solidarity - This is a retrospective on 60 years of the first solo exhibition of visual artist Abelardo da Hora, born in Pernambuco state that to 85 years, is one of the few important expressionist sculptors in activity in Brazil.

Sim, Leonor, o meu conterrâneo Abelardo da Hora tem a sua vasta obra artística espalhada por todos os cantos do Recife , com lindas esculturas nos jardins dos inúmeros prédios residenciais, centros comerciais e empresariais da nossa cidade.
Não sei se você sabe : há uma lei municipal em Recife que toda grande construção (prédios, principalmente), para serem aprovados ( ao "habite-se" ) têm que apresentar nos seus jardins ou fachadas obras de artistas e escultores pernambucanos. Uma boa idéia, não?
Essa aí (foto), deitada na rede, é uma autentica mulher nordestina, uma pernambucana, no planalto brasiliense!

A very good capture of this rather unusual looking sculpture. The image is bright and in my opinion well composed. I also enjoyed the sharpness, the exposure and the excellent B&W conversion of this beautiful photograph. Well done!

Sorprende que en un material tan duro y ordinario
como el hormigón pueda haber tanta sensualidad
tanto amor ... me imagino que una de las intenciones
de Abelardo da Hora al crear esta interesante
escultura era buscar ese contraste y tu en esta
toma sencilla nos la muestras en una toma en B/N
con muy buenos detalles de luz y encuadre.

It was a good idea to convert to B&W as I guess there was little colour in the image. The conversion is well done and you have captured the sheen very well.

a opção pelo preto e branco caiu como uma luva.
O POV bem centrado também trouxe muito equilíbrio, a meu ver.
Não conheço (vergonhosamente) o jardim do Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, mas parece ser muito apropriado para umas fotos.

Hello Dear Leonor,

Black and white is a perfect format for the concrete statue. It is a compelling design, and demonstrates an extraordinary prescience by the artist (28 years have elapsed since it was produced). A symmetric presentation works well, especially since the lack of symmetry is was imbued into the work by the sculptor.
