O "PALÁCIO DO ITAMARATY"
(THE ITAMARATY PALACE)

ÁGUA, CIMENTO E VIDRO!

EAU, CIMENT ET VERRE!
WASSER, ZEMENT UND GLAS!

Focus on some details of another public building in BRASÍLIA. Once more designed by OSCAR NIEMEYER! It's right in front of the Ministry of Justice Building, close to the CONGRESSO NACIONAL/NATIONAL CONGRESS, in the EIXO MONUMENTAL/MONUMENTAL AXE and it's the headquarters for the FOREIGN AFFAIRS.

"With arches reflected in a mirror of water, with islands of tropical plants, the Headquarters of the Foreign Office in BRASÍLIA has the appearance of a palace built of glass. Designed by brazilian architect OSCAR NIEMEYER and situated next to the SQUARE OF THE THREE POWERS (Praça dos Três Poderes), it has works of art integrated into the architectural scheme with spans extending from 30 to 36 meters, a spiral staircase linking the floors and indoor gardens designed by the brazilian landscape painter, ROBERTO BURLE MARX, the building is considered to be a masterpiece of contemporary architecture.

As the focus of Brazilian foreign policy, the building has a façade that is adjacent to a sculpture by BRUNO GIORGI symbolizing the union between the five continents and it's acclaimed as a symbolic view of Brasilia - The METEOR! In addition, the building incorporates unusual features such as marble walls by ATHOS BULCÃO and other works depicting Brazil in previous centuries by foreign artists such as FRANS PROST, JEAN-BAPTISTE DEBRET and RUGENDAS. It houses a great collection of objects and works by other brazilian artists as well. The Palace is open to visitors daily."

Hello Ney,
A very good point of view on this modern architecture. The building offers some interesting graphical lines and beautiful reflections of the sky. The composition provides balance by way of the foreground water feature. Very good light and colours. Adequate sharpness to draw out the detail in the architecture.

hello Neyvan,
somewhat surreal scene, the lime green water against the blue glass wall with some orange columns thrown in totally defies the traditional view on how a building should look. the composition works very well too, the corner of the building creates an impression that this is something 2D. interesting :)

Hello Neyvan,
I like a lot taking people's pictures so as you like taking pictures of magnificent landscapes, in which you surely are a master. This last one is fantastic because in it are concentrated lots of elements, but each of it in a perfect position.
The composition is perfectly done and its very interesting looking at it.
Colours and reflections are outstanding.

beleza de foto essa do Itamaraty, com ótimas cores. Não sabia que essa água era tão verde assim, devem jogar algum corante. Quando conheci era a noite e não reparei.
