Its official name is: CATEDRAL METROPOLITANA NOSSA SENHORA APARECIDA/METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL OUR LADY APARECIDA. It's one of the most known Oscar Niemeyer's works in Brasília.

Hi Neyvan,

This shot is just amazing. The shape of this catedral is so unique and the blue sky with white cloud making this a perfect backdrop. Very good details and finely metered D80 to share this in TE.

Hello Neyvan,
What a wonderful view of this magnificent architecture. The clarity, colors, and details of the stained glass windows are excellent. Contrast against the blue sky is splendid. I visited the Cathedral when I was in Brasil last January. I think it is very beautiful on the inside too.

A splendid close-up shot on this cathedral, which so resembles the Roman Catholic cathedral in Liverpool in the UK. Makes a fine symmetrical image with the architecture standing out perfectly against the lovely sky. Clarity is superb. A very fine image.

Bonjour Neyvan,

Un détail de l'architecture de cette cathédrale qui donne beaucoup de dynamique à l'image d'autant avec ce ciel magnifique et cette bonne luminosité. J'aime beaucoup l'effet de relief qui ressort de cette composition. Ce toit en verre doit laisser passer agréablement la lumière dans l'édifice. Joli et intéressant coup d'oeil, merci Neyvan.

Cette cathédrale est très connue mais je l'ai rarement vue aussi bien photographiée. L'architecture très pure est bien mise en valeur par le POV, la lumière et le ciel.

Bonjour Neyvan,
Le moins que l'on puisse dire, c'est que le concepteur de cette cathédrale a une approche très spectaculaire de l'architecture. Avec sa forme circulaire très atypique et ses colonnes de béton incurvées qui s'élancent vers le ciel, elle ferait penser à une cheminée de centrale nucléaire qui dégage une épaisse fumée blanche s'il n'y avait pas cette croix en son sommet. Ceci dit, le cadrage centré sur l'édifice est bien vu, et crée une symétrie intéressante à partir des arcs. La prise de vue en contre-plongée en amplifie le caractère imposant tandis que le ciel bleu fait ressortir sa blancheur. Certainement l'une des cathédrales les plus modernes au monde.
