Photographer’s Note
Every February is held one of the most amazing festivals in the whole of South America, at 3.700 m above sea level! The city is called Oruro and is in the South-Western altiplano of Bolivia. The dances and costumes are amazing, followed with a mad waterfight between the spectators. It is very urgent to book accommodation 1-2 months in advance as it fills up quickly, and do note, that prices can be up to 300% more expensive at this time. A good alternative is to make a daytrip from La Paz (3 hours away) to see the opening of the festival, but then you miss the real party; Bolivians drunk out of their minds and travellers loving it!

Hi Thrudur,
I am really happy to finally see a picture from the Oruro carnival here on TE.
Thanks for sharing.
In terms of photography it is very colourful. However, I probably would have focussed more on the right mask, since I find the other ones a bit distracting.
