Photographer’s Note
This image was taken from the old road that connects Santa Cruz with Cochabamba. This road is not used much since the new lowland road was constructed.
The old road is spectacular, passing through an amazing variety of habitats: dry tropical forests, cactus filled deserts, dense cloud forest, high altitude puna and andean valleys.
As you might expect, this is a popular area with bird watchers.

Hi Shir,
This one should certainly be receiving more praise than it has got...can't understand.Maybe it is a touch too dark..I don't know.Anyway, the skyline is quite amazing and the texture of the BG clouds makes it seem as if they are waves rolling into shore. The sharpness is knife-sharp.Well mate...Shana Tova...and maybe your luck will change.
Regards, David

hi, i would agree with David...maybe a bit too dark in the foreground. actually, it takes some time to adjust the eyes for it...then it is possible to see the outlines of something. the road? nice color of the sky though. I guess it comes out as a winner in the photo of compromise. with some lighter tones for the foreground (if you can manage it without bringing out the noise) and having this shot in very large format...i see it then as a nice decoration for some doctor's office, or maybe shrink's - even better. TFS, Alan.

OK, I was slightly negative towards your previous posting, and it it looks like you listened and corrected ;-) (ahem)
The composition of this photo certainly holds together as a unity, v-shapes marching together into the distance.
And one of those shapes is fluffy, while the rest are stone-hard, that adds a good doubleness (can't think of a real english word for this right now, hope it is understandable) that helps to keep the interst in the photo.
