Photographer’s Note
This is one of my favorite pictures from a 3month trip to Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru. It was taken out of the bus leaving La Paz on the way to Copacabana. The Pacena Brewery is located on the main road to El Alto just of the city Center. It can't be missed due to its size and big red gates. La Paz was a very claustrophobic experience. So many People, cars and houses in very steep valley.

La Paz is really one hell of a caotic two. I have been there four times, and I'm returning next month.
The Paceña beer has a great simbolic meening to it. The bolivians claim that it is the second best beer in the whole world. So the Paceña Industries have a strong patriotic conotation to it.
You also managed to caputure another simbol of Bolivia, a "Chola" (that woman).
So in your photo, I see a mixture of new and old on Bolivia.
Great one.
And Welcome to TE.

Hi Daniel,
do not like Pacena that much...i prefer Huari;-)...a nice but sad daily life capture...as yourself i only passed this place a few times travelling with a bus...La Paz is great but its geographical situation could be overhelming, have to agree...did a WS for you as there was one thing which was disturbing me here in this photo of yours...hope you like it...cheers, arturo
ps. have to disagree with Discaciate, she does not look like a Chola woman...she seems to be a very poor campesino women, looking at the hat and the dress coming probably from the Potosí region...the poncho-like thing over her shoulder is called awayo...Chola women are generally those wearing partly traditional dress but living in towns...and they hardly wear sandals made out of used tyres...
