Photographer’s Note
It's been a while since my mast Bolivian Upload so let's go for a Bolivian Washing Day to provide South American balance for the numerous such scenes out of Africa or India.
So we're here on the shore of the lake Titikaka on the "Isla del Sol". The legend says the Sun God Inti was born here and the first Inka emperor is also said to originate from here. Several Inka remains can be found on this island as well as stunning lake Titikaka views. Although we're here on Bolivian territory, the woman's hat evocates more neighbouring Peru.
Should you intend to visit this area one day be sure to read the story of Miss Inti and learn the lesson !
Technically speaking this scanned photo would deserve some more contrast but the overexposed area in the background prevents from adding more.

This is a nice composition. The colours of the clothes against the rocks are good. I think the image could do with a bit more sharpening, but then this may be because it's a scanned photo.

Hey JY,
what I like here my friend iare the colors. Now, would I like it as much if the rocks were bare? I think not. However the laundry on the rocks balances the women by the water, and fills the whole frame with fantastic color.

This kind of pictures work as a reality check for me. We tend to forget very easily how much our modern ways of life solve the most basic needs, like water...
Jean, did you trying playing with selective curves toboost the contrast? The composition forms a beautiful 'Z' shape. I think is worth the work.
Best Regards,
Enrique

salut jy

Hi Jean-Yves. This is a nice daily life capture. All of the clothes do add quite a bit of color and help bring some life to it. Perhaps the sharpness could be increased. Nice one JY.

Hi Jean
This is reminiscent of my photo Washing Muslin. Have a look when you have time. Only here, we see the washing in traditional bright colours. The composition works well here and tells a good daily life story with the dresses all hanging about. Good shot.

Bonjour Jean-Yves,
