[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The railway from Chile (seacoast) to Uyuni, in Bolivia, is the highest railway in the world (higher than 4000 meters !).
It is going through barren land (here, the salar de Uyuni) and the temperature IN the train is minus 30° at night...
It is extremely slow and the 20 hours journey is quite a (cold) adventure...

Hi Olivier.

Nice picture. The sense of depth is lovely.

Regards, Oscar

Ces rails plein centre nous emporte on ne sait où, c'est cela la grande force de ta photo.
L'hyperfocale a été bien réglée, tout est super net.
Beau travail & quel paysage !

Salut Olivier
You have chosen a great POV to emphasise the perspective and depth, also a good DOF and sharpness. The vastness and emptiness of the landscape is incredible.
Amicalement, Susanna

Hi Oliver,

the railway seems like a string giving life in this vast landscape...cool idea to photograph Uyuni from this perspective...cheers, artur

ps. i was under the impression that the world higest train runs in Peru (Lima to Huancavelica) reachin' it's highest point at 4829 meters...it might soon be exceeded by a Chinese trains forced to run over 5000 meters (China is building a railway in Tibet)...

Salut Olivier,
j'aime beaucoup ce genre de photo.
La réalisation est bien chouette.
Bravo
Guillaume

Hello Olivier,

Great and strong photo.
I like this photo very much: same kind of colors, horizon with just a small cloud.

Well done!
Greetings, Jan-Arie

The composition is very well thought of here, Oliver
I like the low POV that you chose
And the well placed horizon 2/3 of the image

Nice note too

!!! Watch out !!! the train is behind you

Salut Olivier
Cordialement.
JP

HI Olivier:

Magnificent perspective of this railway... very well composed, excellent DOF and colors with an useful NOTE.

Hugs
Alejandro

Incroyable vue ... I like the railway line extending to the infinity
tres impressionant ...
certainement la meilleure photo que j'ai vue sur TE aujourd'hui ...
Merci beaucoup pour partage ... j'aime beaucoup la vue ... bravo !!!!
A+++

PS: Just like the previous photo I had critiqued in your gallery ... I would have liked to see some underexposure in this shot.

great photo, good dof and perspective, i did not know there is a train that goes through the salar, i went by 4wd. good to know.

Hi Olivier - brilliant shot, excellent symmetry of the rails, it looks bizarre to see such a shiny well maintained railway in a remote desolate landscape.
