[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Colquechaca (puente de plata en Quechua) esta conocida como la ciudad del rosicler (sal de plata). Fue una fuente importante de recursos en la historia colonial de Bolivia. Pero ahora solo quedan unos 25% de los habitantes. En todas partes hay casas abondanadas y mucha desolacion. Todo esto se nota en la mirada de los chicos de mineros que deben buscar su futuro en otras zonas del pais.

Colquechaca (silver bridge in quechua lenguage) is also known as the city of the rosicler (a silver mineral). This city has been an important source of welfare in colonial times, but it is now left with less than 25 % of its inhabitants. Many houses are abandoned and there is little future for those kids.... except migration towards other parts of the country.

Great shot!

Very good photo. Unfortunately one of the the kids is a bit out of focus, but still a very good and interesting shot. Nice colours.

Hi Eric,

one can argue what is better...abandon a place like this and move somewhere else if possible or try to live there regardless of the cirumstances...i think this image gives a hint about the conditions these kids face every day...cheers, artur

J'aime cette photo pour ce qu'elle montre de la pauvreté et pour son imperfection. Ca ne gêne en rien que le premier petit garçon n'est pas parfaitement net.
