On the same theme as "The Yellow Brick Road", this red dirt road lead up north from San Ignacio toward the edge of the Noel-Kempff Mercado National Park. It was a rough ride, some 14 hours in a 30 year old Jeep into wilderness, with some little hats on the way. On the way the clutch broke down to pieces, the jeep had to cross deep trenches of mud and fallen tree
in the middle of the night, and on the way back the rear-left suspension broke down and a tree log fixed it back in place...A true adventure to the outback of the South American outback, wild Bolivia...
This picture was taken while riding down the road, while half of my body was outside of the jeep, so a high shutter speed was needed here. luckily, it turned out sharp!

Very novel PoV for this shot, and the long dirt road jsut as I imagine Bolivia. Very good TE work. Are you carrying a scanner around with you on this trip?

Hello Chen,
Great shot, nice colours and POV. I really like this.

I like the angle you've taken this photo from, and your discomfort was worth it as we have a good and interesting composition. It looked like Australia at first. It's the kind of picture we could expect to see in a magazine.

This is a really good shot chen.
You did right by adding the car in the corner of the shot..
Great colors.

What a road!
Just in RED!
and it's not unfamiliar for me:)

cool - this perspective here is amazing, long, endless road leads our eyes to the far far end; and your position here is really "different";
excellent colours;
best wishes, jerzy

Hi Chen. Excellent stuntman work to get this impressive photo :) The result is quite impressive - a strong perspective provided by the red road leading to the horizon, and a good inclusion of the jeep from which you took it. The workshop photo is a good documentary addition to better understand the adventurous conditions of this outback trip. I like it.

A good angle to compose this shot wit only a part of the car towards this endless converging red road in contrast with the blue car, very well seen Chen.

This just the South America I imagine. The colors, old car and red road...

Hi Chen
If I didn't see that the hand seemed to be on the steering wheel on the left, I would have thought it was Australia. OK, the vegetation is not quite the same. But the long straight red roads and clear blue skies are. Excellent depth and well composed. Glad you made it back to show us the shot.

this shot just makes me smile.
I think it captures the art of travel. Getting there is more than half the fun, and it just looks whimsical to me. Sounds like it wasn't all that whimsical with things breaking down, but the shot it great.

Hello Chen

You had a very bright idea to include the
vehicle in the frame, and I appreciate the feeling of escape at the end of the road. Good shot
