Everyone who has been to La Paz knows exactly where this is taken, for many people this is the first sight of the city when coming from the airport or Lake Titicaca. At the time, this was the only road open out of the city, all others being barricaded by striking farmers. These days the situation seems hardly improved, last week the country was in serious political crisis yet once again.
The city centre is at about 3500m elevation. The airport is over 4000m.

Wow, what a huge view.
Great contrast between natural and man-made landscape - the scale is huge.
Fascinating - thanks for sharing.

Useful note (would be wrong say "nice", the situation in Bolivia is really bad now) and fantastic picture. Is very representative of what means a city in countries like Bolivia and similars.

I guess it could have been a little bit bigger so I would not have to come up so close to my dusty monitor - ok. you got a good workshop ;)
Another really good shot. The sky is beyond impressive. Very good scan.

Magnificent! The majesty of the mountains in contrast to the sprawling city in the valley is just amazing. And the quality of sharpness (did you use a tripod?) is great. Thanks for sharing this image with us --may I use it in my classes on Latin American culture? Best, Herbert

Wow, what lovely shot. Great composition, lighting and Point of view. The clouds on sky and lights come out from the gap of clouds on mountains. Love it very much.

I see you quickly managed to master a pano tool, very nice result, some time ago I have posted a photo from a similar PoV but not that wide. What I like on your photo are the clouds, while in Bolivia I did see little clouds, here they even hide the Illimani. Nice and clear view as usual, but this you know already ;-)
Have a nice day,

This is stunning view. The city looks like a big river flowing through the valley. Very impressive. I like the smaller version more than the larger one.

This is one of the best shots of La Paz that I have ever seen. I looked at the larger version and I was amazed at the sharpness that you were able to achieve. This is a remarkable composition especially with the Andes in the backfround and those skyscrapers in the city centre. I think I could almost locate my hotel if I could zoom in.
Just plain spectacular.

Just loved the larger version!
I was in the Titicaca Lake last year. I was planning to visit La Paz, but I was in Peru, so I preferred visit better the Country I was at... Maybe someday I'll be there!
Meanwhile, I travel in your picture... a great one, by the way!
