Photographer’s Note
This is a familiar sight to anyone who has traveled the area. The Isla de pescado sits in the middlef the Salar de Uyuni and is inhabited by 1200yr old cactus that you can see in the image. It is high up here, well above 10,000 feet and a very unique polace by any standards.

Very nice composition. I like the different levels created by the cactus, the white, and the blue of the hills and the sky. All of the elements come together so nicely.

Hello TWJ,
You're not wrong about this landscape being unique. I have never heard of this salt lake and the abundance of cacti that surround its borders. Being 10,000' above sea level is also amazing that cacto grow at that altitude. Very good image with the depth of field and cropping. I think the altitude may have mad the photo a little darker than what the light meter could pick up. Over all a fine image...

What a great landscape shot. Great POV of this impressive salt lake, with stunning colors and beautiful contrast among the three layers. Great work.

I specially enjoy the composition in this one.
The contast between the three different main tones in the image is very good. The fact that the biggest cactus' "arm" is the only one to cross the 'white line' is a nice detail.
Great picture, thanks for sharing your view from this far away place!!

great shot of the salt planes. the blue sky is great and contrasts well with the foreground and catcii.
i would have liked to have seen you shoot from the ground and exclude the cactii. i think the blue and white work well together and would make for an awesome shot in their own respect.
great work!

An almost impossible landscape - that salar that seems snow. Amazing.
An almost artificial photo - those three very different levels: the blue sky and mountains, the white salar, and the dark cactus. Amazing.
