Photographer’s Note
A visit to the Palacio Portales is a must for anyone interested in seeing how the upper, upper crust of Bolivia lived in the early 20th century.
Ironically, the tin baron Simón Patiño never lived here -- he suffered a heart attack during its construction, and his heart condition prevented his return to his native country.
In fact, Charles de Gaulle is the only person who has ever spent the night in the house.
What a pity, because this mansion is a real beaut.

Great shot Gabriel, it looks exactly like my mansion in London!

boa perspectivaa e um ceu espectacular, conheço bem esse lugar e ja estive dentro, lembro de terem contado que Charles de Gaulle dormiu lá e que tiveram de mexer na cama pq era pequena para o tamanho dele verdade? tambem ouviste isso?

As cores, o contraste e POV sao maravilhosos!
The only thing I would notice is a very little distortion on the building lines (they seem to curve to the inside).
This is very normal if you are photographing buildings with a low POV and using the wide end of the lens.
Anyway, if you use photoshop (Elements or CS) there is a filter than you can download as a plugin (PTlens, it is freeware and you can google for it) that corrects this effect very easily.
All you have to do is enter your camera (lens) make and model.

On dirait ma foi d'une photo destinée à promouvoir la vente du Palace dans un catalogue d'immeubles à disposer.
Les couleurs son riches, le fond de ciel ideal et les deux teintes de jaune donnent à l'édifice une impression de richesse additionnelle et de plus-value à la valeur marchande de la propriété.

From this angle it looks really superb, the luminous conditions help the colors to flash, the whites are eclatant and the sky with the small clouds is lovely. I was not aware our CdG had travelled to Bolivia !
