El Fuerte de Samaipata Photo

Photographer’s Note

The Archaeological Place of "El Fuerte de Samaipata", it is only at 6 kilometers of the town of Samaipata, and their main attraction is the biggest carved stone in the world, that is in the back of a hill of sandstone. This Archaeological Place dates the XIV century, and it is believed that it was the religious and cultural center of that area among the XIV and XVI centuries.

It is an extraordinary and mysterious place whose origins and meaning are still study reason. At these remains of a native culture coming from the low lands, have been added constructions of evident Andean origin. Ruins of Spanish origin also exist.

Excellent composition with lots of lines leading into the frame. The light is good and I like the detail of the fence shadows. I think it could do with a bit more sharpening - easily remedied. On the whole a fine image.

Manuel, lugar interessante, quando vi a primeira vez achei que fosse Machu Pichu.

Gostei das cores, eu teria porém feito em outra perspetiva, inclinando mais para a direita a camera, mas é apenas um detalhe.

A vista e cores fortes da foto ajudam a montar esta bela composição. Gosto do posicionamento deste passadiço de madeira que nos leva os oolhos através ada foto. o contraste do céu com o resto da foto é bom, mas acho que a focagem não está ao nivel daquilo que já nos habituaste nesta foto (habituas-nos mal...)

Very interesting place and excellent picture Manuel. The PoV and colours are good in this compo. The clouds look a bit overexposed but the sky has a nice blue colour. Good job :-)

Hi Manuel!

Incredible perspective and composition in this one! Also beautiful and very warm colours. There is a small "but" as it seems to me that the photo is "leaning" a little bit to the left, but it's only a small detail. Overall a great photo!

Using causeway as your POV is a clever idea that adds more objects and gives long depth to your frame. Especially I like mixed-contrast between grass and ground is wonderful. Cloudy sky with your informative note creates great value. Congratulations.

Salut Manuel,
Je commence par le seul point négatif que je peux donner à cette photo à savoir, le ciel un peu brulé, surtout les nuages. L'exposition au sol fait apparaître zones d'ombre un peu trop sombres aussi.
Mise à part l'exposition, le cadrage et les couleurs de même que certaines lumières au sol sont très agréables.

Gosto da perspectiva desta foto, que acho que foi excelentemente escolhida, gosto do contraste de cores imposto pela presença das madeiras ao lado dos achados arqueológicos, e da luminosidade e do brilho que imprimiste ao teu trabalho. As núvens são uma parte essencial desta composição.

i do not want to be harsh on you but this is a pretty bad image according to your own standards...overexposed clouds...lack of sharpness...tilt...the compo leaving the Samaipata ruins far on the right isn't interesting either...i'm quite dizzy looking at it...cheers, arturo
