Photographer’s Note

this is desiree duran, miss bolivia 2005. she was selected among the 10 most beautiful women on earth (according to some..). i was at the coffee shop where she was posing for an add and i told the photografer to sit her in front of the window (i love the light coming out of the window and how it showers the green and red background)then i took my own shots and was very pleased to capture one of her breathtaking smiles. beauty peageants are very big in bolivia and this girl has become a celebrity here, so go ahead, you can call me "paparazzi", jajaja.

Definitivamente ella es una mujer muy bella. Y la luz que haz usado para captarla no tan solo capta la belleza fisica de ella, pero tambien refleja cierta ligereza de su personalidad. Muy bien captado.

it appears you had a chance to photograph the top model at the time...funny capture with jeans, bare feet and an ear to ear smile...all combined with modest interior and an enormous amount of light trying to get through the window...cheers, arturo

Hi Paula,

I think this was a really great opportunity to create some stunning photographs. Not only did you have a beautiful subject, but you had that gorgeous light - oh, and of course, the permission to take pictures.

I really wish you had captured a more subtle side of her beauty however, as to me, this seems a little too posed. Perhaps this could have been achieved by catching her profile or from behind. I also think a lower angle would have made a large difference. The other thing which bothers me in this somewhat geometric composition, is that the line of the door is not parallel to the frame.

I think all of these little things make subtle differences when you are trying to picture something which is so perfect....
