Photographer’s Note

One of the great rewards of making this caravan was to meet the local people, living the simplest way of life possible these days and enjoying it. I must menction that they are very poor according to usual standards, but you have to wonder which is better, the complicated, stressful, hazardous and competitive way of life in the cities, or the simple, healthy, happy and community way of life in far away places like Bella Vista. This picture is taken on the shores of the San Martin river at Bella Vista. People here live out of fishing, hunting and some agricultural produces. It was named a sanctuary by the catholic church. I was impressed because you are awaken every day with classical music and prayer, played on loud speakers on every corner of the little town.
