Photographer’s Note
This was taken in Reserva Natural Laguna Brava in La Rioja province, northern Argentina. We were on our way to the Laguna Brava itself which took about 5 hours of zig-zagging up the mountains along dusty tracks in a 4x4 pick-up.
The mountains in this area are like something you'd expect to see on another planet. The myriad of colours are incredible, a result of the multitude of minerals in the rocks. For example, the predomiant red colour in the hills in the far background is a result of the large amounts of iron ore in the ground. It's a stark, but unbelieveably beautiful place.
Frame added in Photoshop and contrast increased by +10, otherwise unchanged. Believe it or not, I used no lens filter to turn the sky this incredible shade of blue!

Wow! What a blue sky, that's gorgeous!
I agree with Didier regarding the three levels, they are well composed, but I like it that way, with no subject.

Hello Richard,
A nice image well divided into thirds, good contrasty colors.
Maybe missing some subject.
