[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I turn my back to the wind
To catch my breath,
Before I start off again
Driven on,
Without a moment to spend
To pass an evening
With a drink and a friend

I let my skin get too thin
I’d like to pause,
No matter what I pretend
Like some pilgrim --
Who learns to transcend --
Learns to live
As if each step was the end

Time stand still --
I’m not looking back
But I want to look around me now
See more of the people
And the places that surround me now

Freeze this moment
A little bit longer
Make each sensation
A little bit stronger
Experience slips away...

I turn my face to the sun
Close my eyes,
Let my defences down --
All those wounds
That I can’t get unwound

I let my past go too fast
No time to pause --
If I could slow it all down
Like some captain,
Whose ship runs aground --
I can wait until the tide
Comes around

Make each impression
A little bit stronger
Freeze this motion
A little bit longer
The innocence slips away...

Summer’s going fast --
Nights growing colder
Children growing up --
Old friends growing older
Experience slips away...

Time stands still lyrics - Rush

This is a song I like a lot. Makes me think about all those moments we lose cause we are too busy.
The excess of worries and activities blinds us. We pass through this life without noticing many beautiful things life is offering us.

I took this shot at Plaza del Congreso, Buenos Aires.
The little girl was so focused on enjoying the doves.
She did not even notice me.
A busy walker at her back.
No crop, only black and white conversion, level adj. and sharpening.

Very nice scene. I think the legs in the upper left corner add something special to this composition.

Looking at TE's photos, looks like the color revolution has sort of pushed B&W to the side. And the B&W photos I see here are in many instances misused. Where color should be, there is none and the shots that would be perfect in B&W are in color. I think this photo is an example of good B&W phootgraphy. It is a nod at some of the great photography done in B&W when that medium was considered the only true medium to work in. Good mood here, I like the style, I like how the girl is lit up and all he surroundings are dark. Thats a great way to highlight the subject.

Hola Kike. This is very nice - I love your choice of b&w here as it makes the little one stand out even more. The streak of sunlight hitting her bright coat is really good. You also cropped the photo very well. And a fine idea to link it with this great song.

This is well build around the position of the clear young girl an the dark birds and surroundings.
Great BW with a good text, I mean strong whole image and a good relation in between text and picture.

Hi Kike,
What a smart move to turn this one into b/w!
Great placing of the little girl within the frame for the composition and choice of black border for framing.
By her face expression I'm not quite sure she's comfortable being surrounded with so many pigeons, but also may be that I've seen Hitchcock's 'Birds' to many times!
;-D
Pair of legs in the upper left nicely balances the rest of the photo,
Robi

Very good work here, I like the way you took this shot, very good contrasts in colour, the white really stands out

Very nice composition,an adorable photo.
Congrats.

This is a really lovely image of childhood - great to take this low perspective and to maintian this emphasis with just the legs of the adult passing - she looks so absorbed!

best wishes Kev

I'm a fan of Rush ;)

Lovely shot!
Graet POV and angle, very well used of DOF and indeed well captured, all things are fine and the girl is great here with the birds that made the shot dynamic, nicely done,Friend.
Best Wishes

Hi Cesar - very cute, nice use of b&w, and excellent timing, she looks fascinated by the pigeons, and a little scared, great work

Fine image
looks timeless in black and white
cool

Hi Cesar,
How true! Take the time to see around us. That is one of the reason why I'm in love with photography. It help me to "open my eyes" to everything around me. Not just for beauty but for "what is". About your picture here, it is a great one! The black & white choice, the cropping, the legs of the walker behind, so many birds, that cute little girl with her expression, all those things make it special to me. Your text goes hand in hand with it. Perfect!
Claire
