Photographer’s Note

I'm one of many who took a break in the middle of a "busy" ski holiday... i found nice/funny all the skis and poles left "ready to go" on the snow.

A ski lift takes you to this bar (see workshop), and it's always full of people on the terrace, (or inside by the fireplace when it's cold)

i put this photo under "People" because i am referring to those you can't see here because they preferred to have a drink/eat/relax in the sun instead of skiing... only nobody says: i spent the afternoon at the bar having a drink, they say: I went skiing...

Photo taken last winter (argentine winter! in august!) in Las Lenas, a ski resort very close to Malargue, in the Province of Mendoza.

This photo is not too bright (burnt), it is showing reality,
we should always use sunglasses on ski slopes, even when the sun does not come out, daylight reflects on the snow and can hurt your eyes badly..

I like the story this picture tells. Having been skiing for the first time, in France, I'm used to the skis being stacked upright in holders. So seeing these left ready to go and especially with the poles upright makes for a fascinating shot. I have a shot of that I think I might post tonight.
I agree with you about the brightness of the snow. In fact, I think you could probably boost the contrast even further in this shot. That could also bring out the colour in the skis just a little more.
I'd also suggest just cropping a tiny bit more from the top and left to remove the gate (top right) and people (top left). For me, the people in particular dilute the humour of "they said they were all skiing". Still, that's a personal take I suppose.
