Back to our journey through Patagonia...

This picture was taken on our way back to El Calafate from the Perito Moreno glacier. We stopped to have a look at the Lago Argentino. But looking over our shoulders we also had a nice view on the mountains in the distance that surround the Perito Moreno glacier. And together with the bus on the road, this gives me the feeling of a scene from a road movie.

And yes: the road was not level, so to reflect the actual situation I decided to keep the road/horizon a bit tilted and not to level them out.

Tech: Slide scanned with Minotla Dimage Scan Dual III film/slide-scanner and USM.

Good morning, Michael, what a beautiful shot to start this dull and cold day with!
It almost seems an unreal background, like a big screen in a road movie (which is of course hard to shoot in a studio!)
The highest peaks are not even completely visible because of the impressive clouds (I read your notes now, and see that you also mention a road movie).
The whole scene renders a feeling of a very empty and inhospitable country. Better be prepared for cold storms and low temperatures.

Hi Michael,

beautiful picture of the road !i like the pov and the light, this is an EXCELLENT picture !!

Cheers
greg

Hello, Michael! Great picture with beautiful colors and perspective. Beautiful mountains!
regards,
Grzegorz

It seemed like the mountains flowts on air (and it always makes me happy to see patagonia again...).

Hi Michael: Excellent picture. The bust trully helps you position yourself relative to the mountains.

Good decision about keeping the tilt, Michael. Otherwise it would look unnatural.
Great DOF and low POV makes the bus very dynamic and the BG soft and breath-taking.
This looks like some movie opening scene. ;-D

Hi Michael, This is a beautiful picture. The background mountains and cloud under the blue sky made the cheerful tone of this picture. If it were a movie, it should be a one with Hollywood ending :)
Good DOF and POV. I like the disappearing looking of the road, which makes the view to imaging. Well done.

Hi Michael,

I like the feel of the photograph and agree that the mountain scene is so perfect it looks like it could have been a painted backdrop.

Am new to TE, but really like your selection and will be exploring more.

Very nice "On the Road" photo with the bus. The mountains in the back look a bit oversaturated, but that's alright. Good work here with the low angel. This shot reminds me so much of my own shot of the Peruvian highway. Good work.

Dag Michael,
Groeten,
John.

very nice shot, I like the mountains and the blur of the road, the vehicle is a very nice catch and very sharp indeed, well done

HI MIchael

nice shot, incredible place, so big

I thank you for not leveling the shot, and showing reality as it is...Sometimes we confuse rules of photography and when something is not leveled in reality appears someone saying "your horizon is tilted"

:)

I am glad you enjoyed the trip and a pity we did not meet being so close

A hug my friend, be well

K.

Patagonia is one of my dream destinations, Michael, and I'm glad to see this fine photo from there. Indeed a bit of a "road movie" feel to this scene of the bus traversing the magnificent landscape. The vehicle is very well placed in the frame, and the view towards teh mountain range is grand - I like how the summits are engulfed by clouds. Very nice bright light and good blueish tones in the back. Well done.

very nicepicture, shapr, good colors, no more to say ;).

Nice perspective! Thank you for sharing, Michael. That's a true TE shot.
