Photographers Note
The fist view I had of the Worlds End City when I was landing after comming out from the Andes Range.
This city is magical, has something with it that canīt be explained and you feel it at the moment you see it from the window for the first time. Itīs the southmost city in the world, and itīs the nearest city to the Antartica and itīs base camps.
Iīm planning to move there in the future some day.
The runway you see in this picture isnīt the actual comercial airport runway, thatīs the old one, now used just by the Argentinan Air Force. The actual runway is aligned with the plane so I couldnīt take it. Then in the middle of the bay you can see the Harbour, where all the Antartic expeditions from all the world stop before reaching the white continent. At the back of the city you can see the last and southern part of the Andes Range and in the middle the Martial glascier. This picture is taken during summer so thats why there is few snow in the mountains. To the west of the city, at the left upper part, you can see a little of the Tierra del Fuego National Park with all the lakes and bays in the Beagle Chanel.

Beautiful aerial view. Well composed and with a lot of detail. I take it you were on final approach.

You've managed to catch a beautiful view on this very nice town. Very good clear and detailed picture! Indeed, Ushuaia has something magical. The scenery is absolutely stunning and walking around in this city makes you feel a little bit like an explorer, even though the shops in the city centre are very modern. The feeling of being near to Antarctica is very strong, enhanced by the presence of the ships in the port. The Antarctica exposition in the former prison of Ushuaia is very interesting!
