Series on my trip to BUENOS AIRES - ARGENTINA'S Capital City - SOUTH AMERICA - From June 3rd to 6th 2010 - # 036 !
DANDO UMA VOLTINHA COM OS CACHORROS !
PASEANDO A LOS PERROS !
WALKING THE DOGS !
The "PORTEÑOS" (BUENOS AIRES INHABITANTS) love dogs and have them in their homes! As we all know, dogs must go outside for lots of reasons! We all know too that not everybody has enough time for that (at least everyday)! Therefore, in Buenos Aires (and probably in many other places around the World) people pay for other people to walk their dogs and here's a common scene in that city!
With this picture, I go on with my series here at TE, showing some landmarks of BUENOS AIRES, the ARGENTINA'S CAPITAL CITY and the SECOND largest city in SOUTH AMERICA, considered a mix of several european cities (Madrid, London and Paris)!
Although the city has faced many economical crisis in the last decades with obvious decay of life quality in many aspects - today one can find homeless people, beggars, dirt, a certain violence in the streets and slums in its outskirts - the good spirit of the city still remains: Fun at night, with lots of people going out around midnight and going back home when sunlight already exists! Wonderful buildings and monuments are still all over the place!!!

He is obviously very busy this dog walker, I don't think I have ever seen so many dogs under the control of one person. It is to be hoped all the dogs get on together:-) A well presented daily life image, perfectly composed and with a story to relate.

This is a good photo from Buenos Aires, focusing more on people (and dogs) than houses or monuments. To me street-life always tells me more of a city than just buildings. The colours and light are great in this interesting and unusual composition. I just can't help wondering what the poor guy would do if the dogs collectively decide to run in another direction :-).

Buenos Aires has a particular allure for me and I'd love to visit it one day. I think I wrote Maria (nikkita) once that certain aspects of it remind me of Athens but, of course, Buenos Aires is more elegant and cosmopolitan, despite the crises it's been through. I like very much this glimpse into the daily life of the city. Your composition conveys depth and movement excellently, there's superb clarity and light and colours are very appealing. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

Bonsoir, cher Neyvan,
Il faut une force surhumaine pour conduire cet attelage canin !
De plus, ce ne sont pas de petits chiens. L'image est excellente, bravo pour la réactivité.
Très bonne soirée.

I saw this business on some travel TV show. Quite a big group to control! You have a good low angle for this shot and background park looks very nice.

Une photo plutôt originale. Avec le nombre d'animal, ce promeneur de chiens doit être en mesure de garder le contrôle, sinon .... Bien fait.

This type pictures see we almost never a walker with eleven dogs.
Also the architecture makes these picture attractive.
Excellent depth and perspective picture, pleasant to look at.
A nice sharp and clear picture, nice colours too.

C'est original, une belle meute de chiens, bon effet de dynamisme et une luminosité qui donnent d'intéressantes teintes.

Acho que esses passeios são bem piores que as viagens organizadas:)! Qual é o cão que aprecia um passeio nessas condições? Boa cena quotidiana, bem captada!

I never heard about 'dog sitters' and I consider this picture is quite informative.
This guy must be very even-tempered because most dogs are inclined to 'read the morning news' left by other dogs on fire hydrants... and the ceremonial can take a long time when hauling ten dogs!!
