Please enjoy this photo of the old ' graffiti door ' No.16 in my doors of time series... to be continued in 2013.
The whole building was covered in this mustard yellow colour & stood out amongst the drab surroundings - 10 out of 10 for the creativity of the owners.
Wishing everyone '' A BEAUTIFUL HOLIDAY SEASON '' & MUCH LOVE & GOOD HEALTH in the NEW YEAR!!!

Leonardo wrote, "You need only to observe and ponder, and the commonplace becomes wondrous, and the wondrous commonplace." This door, and others in your series, belong in the group theme Old Doors. I'll be happy to place it there, if you don't mind, and you are welcome to place your other photos in the genre in that theme.

A very good study of materials and colours. A very artistic approach here, the old door reveals many pleasant details. A very interesting and well observed picture!

un'altra porta interessante e piena di storia, il tempo e l'uso sono rimasti indelebili sul legno.

Not so nice, this one, but still a certain beauty to be found in this rundown place. The faded colours and the graffiti go well together and the light is nicely mild. I would say that the photo as such looks a lot better than the doors.

I have to say that I do enjoy your Door series and I look forward to seeing more in the new year too.
How could anyone not enjoy these rustic beauties.
Certainly won't see anything like this here in Canada, I can guarentee you that.
its funny to see the large #20 painted on, very simple.

A fascinating old door that must have seen many comings and goings. You have captured it very well, warts and all. Superb rendering of the tones and textures. Another fine image in this great series.

Hola dear Dawn
Another very characteristic and fascinating door for your series. I just love those strong saturations, contrasts and textures. Again, excellent management of the light and good depth.
Nice work, un abrazo

Elle doit avoir beaucoup d'histoires à raconter cette vieille porte . J'aime la texture de l'ensemble ainsi que les couleurs passées.

What I like about this shot is that it has just enough detail that you can see some of the imperfection and the rustic grittiness of this building wall and the doors. Lots of detail definitely looks like it has seen better days, I wonder what stories this door could tell, anyway its escaped becoming firewood. Certainly a wonderful general look of degeneration...

Another great old door! The graffiti around are great and I like the textures. The huge number at the top is perfect! We sometimes find numbers written like that here:)!
Very good addition to your series!

What an image! There is so much character and so much intrigue too, perhaps. The colours and textures are just fantastic and I wish I could see all the history that walked through this door. Fabulous!
PS: May you and your family also have a blessed season and a wonderful new year.

The old, dilapidated doors are simply perfect object of study for a painter and photographer, they are simply incredibly beautiful, maybe because as like the face of an old woman are affected by the ravages of time. By the way did you notice that the faces of the old people are much more interesting than the faces of the young. It is written as an interesting book.
Generally, your picture I really like.

You had posted a fine series titled "Doors of time", Dawn, and each is a unique and different.
Every door like this one, enfolds a life-story behind. when I see such picture, always a thought p ass through mind, who are or were the residents there? what had happened to the house and place?
This is the essence of TE.
Have a nice travel time.

Hello Dawn, I always liked old doors and handles, they are appealing to me as style, color and history!
Your picture highlights perfectly this old door with the faded soft colors, still standing after all!
jacquest (18927) 2013-01-07 17:25
I like the tight framing on this old door. The light gives a nice texture to the wood with good sharpness. I very much like these rustic doors and windows and I am well served by this one.

this door is in as bad a condition as the whole of the building must be. It is very intriguing and mysterious, though, and we can only imagine how many times and for what reasons it has been opened by force. All the faded colours, worn out textures and graffitti have stories to tell. The foliage and the fresh colour and bright light it brings into the frame introduces a strong contrast. Your composition, framing and lighting are great. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

Lep pogled na stara vrata sa brojem 20 ...
Dobra ostrina snimka, kontrast, lepe boje.
Dobra kompozicija, lepo pokazano.
Ostala su stara vrata i uspomene.
A nice view of the old door with the number 20 ...
Good image sharpness, contrast, beautiful color.
Good composition, nice revealed.
Other doors are old and memories.
All the best.
jmdias (63998) 2013-01-15 0:50
the break patterns, the vanished color, the number and the ruins of this door make it looks like a modern piece of art. nice job with excellent indirect light.

A great addition to your series, once again rich in texture and beautiful colours. The red door and blue graffiti do stand out great against the yellow walls. This scene is full of character.
Thanks also for your comments on my shots Dawn. I read your comment on the Young Love picutre (the girl with the orange hair) and it made me smile widely today :)
Have a great evening.

You're capturing well this graphical door by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the red door surrounded to wall with mustard yellow color and the scribble drawn on the wall. It's tasteful although it's old. The whole is harmonized well by a good color combination. And, the green leaf seen at upper right draw out an additional good effect in this image. Interesting No.20 house!
