Photographer's Note

OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY OF TILCARA

It was built in 1797 and completed in 1865.
The building has the typical sober exterior facade of the churches of the valley with two bell towers, besides the typical porch overlooking a courtyard outside the church and a brick frame around it

Its design features respond to local tradition, with whitewashed adobe walls , stone floors and roof of wood cactus, covered with ceramic tiles.

Six paintings from the Cuzco school, with scenes from the Life of the Virgin, are the most valuable artistic heritage of this church.

Tilcara is one of the main attractions of the Quebrada de Humahuaca.
It is 45 minutes from the capital San Salvador de Jujuy on National Route 9

La arquitectura es increíble para los ojos europeos, y no sin enmarcar charme.Le revela la forma de la galería, y las dos torres frontales. Las nubes parecen hermosas sobre la colina en el fondo. La luz está bien controlada. Los colores y la nitidez son buenos. Bravo.

Hola Maria,
Although sober the architecture is very beautiful. You captured this church well with the entrance under the arch on the foreground and the dark mountain slope behind it.

What an architectural beauty you have presented here. I like the arch in the foreground through which you can see the cross and other side buildings. I kind of like the gloomy weather where the colors look very beautiful.

Me gusta la arquitectura de la inglesia! tiene algo propio, algo llamativo, algo que nos muestra algo tipico de ally..el cielo azul complementa muy bien el conjunto y ademas las nubes tienen un importante papel estetico..buen trabajo Maria.!

Hello Maria,

There are many beautiful chuches I saw in Argentina, this style is very popular, some Mission in California are also in this style. Good POV and nice quality, good sun light. were you in a car or inside somewhere? The muted colors makes it feel like looking through a tainted glass or window. You can give it a little contast to make it a bit brighter.

The church with its yellow colour stands out with the dark slope of the hills behind. he open arched gate welcomes the viewer into the compound. The simplicity in design & facades is noteworthy! Well done!

esta iglesia tiene algunas semejanzas con las que he visitado en bolívia e norte de chile, pero su estilo tiene algo mas europeo. hermoso punto de vista que nos muestra el arco y los detalles del local. gracias por compartir.

Bonjour Maria,
cette photo a des allures de toute vieille photo et cela n'a rien pour me déplaire. On y voit un soleil à 45° dont les lumières sont bien domptées.
J'aime aussi beaucoup ce ciel, de toute beauté.

I might try a workshop boosting levels to get more brightness & contrast in the fg. The arch is well utilised here & the yellow tinted architecture contrasts well against the blue sky. Tfs!

Bonjour Maria
Une belle église certes, pas facile à cadrer avec le muret et le portail qui cache une partie de l'édifice.
Lez zones claires éclairées d'un soleil chaud ont légèrement trompé le capteur de l'appareil ce qui a donné une sous exposition.
Ce n'est pas grave, une sous exposition peut être corrigée.
Il suffisait de surexposer légèrement par rapport aux données affichées
Tu as effectué un Bon WS mais ce n'était pas terminé
J'ai donc effectué un WS sur le WS pour corriger la dominante verte.

Hello Maria,

his is an interesting church standing on the highland, so it's impressive to see the church with two towers, white washed walls and stone floor as you're noting. It's interesting in the design of entrance gate. And, the mountain in behind show geographical environment.
