The shutters are opened to reveal the pretty floral curtains - the geranium is in its pot on the window ledge - the very old & primitive house has withstood the test of time - inside the house would be a happy & contented family living a modest life.

This is a very authentic photograph ! As you say, one imagines the family behind those flowery curtains probably lives a happy life despite their modest condition. And your capture seems to carry that message : No need to be rich to enjoy life.
That could be a message of Christmas, the one which Jesus wanted to convey !
