What an inspiring scene, and what an inspiring photograph, with the silhouette of the trees agains the shimmering light on the lake. This is by far the most beautiful photograph I've seen on Trekearth in weeks.
I visited Santiago and Valparaiso just a few months ago, but did not get to Laguna Cerro Torre.

This is a beautiful picture.I love the trees standing out over the shimmering water and the recession in the snow covered mountains.I think I would crop the burnt out sun and this could sell for a massive amount of money. So Good Luck to you.T.F.S.

this picture deserves much more points - it is quite stunning actually. The landscape is far from lovely and cheerful but the rough beauty sometimes is even more striking. I especially like the POv you chose for it and the way you composed the whole picture. The green trees add a little bit more color to this moody place and the sharp white peaks in the distance create very special atmosphere. Great DOF and sharpness.
Thanks for sharing this gorgeous place with us

Idealistic vertical view of Cerro Torre, across the lake into the harsh sunlight, with the dramatic craggy peaks back lit. A difficult accomplishment and very well done,

This is a very beautiful view and a great photo for sure. I like this light and tonalities. The reflection on the water is a great detail also. You have done a really good work!

Havent i see enough from the Himalayas, south of france, from canada etc. But his one has some amazing light that makes it stand out from a group of thumbnails !!
pretty landscapes will be photographed a million times and will always look the same, look pretty, so when we anticipate innovative povs and read unusual light conditions well is when we get something new like this one..

I can understand your love of South America. After living for three years in Argentina, I jumped to those shots in your portfolio, I love this shot - remind me is that Cerro Fitzroy in the background? The backlit sky is spectacular and the someness of what is almost a B&W finish conveys the mood of the Patagonian Andes very well.
Nice work, thanks,
