Sunrise over the Fitzroy range as the clouds clear from the first snowstorm of the season.
This is my second B&W post, and I know I have a lot to learn so I'd appreciate any critiques you guys have that can help me improve it. I took the original file and added a B&W layer in PS. I adjusted the color sliders until the overall look approached what I saw in person. Then I did minor dodging of highlights in the reflection. Than a very slight blue tint. That's it. The original color version had such great sidelight that it was a pretty easy conversion. I'm just not sure if it's TOO contrasty with the dark sky.

So majestic with those white peaks towering over the scene. Great layers and a wonderful tonal range for this beautiful black and white landscape, I personally like contrasty black and whites so I think it is great. It really looks so peaceful there. I see you are using a Hasselblad...nice!

uen photo vraiment parfaite, ses deux qualités premières, les lumières et la préision de la mise au point.
Belle utilisation du filtre dégressif.

The B&W suits well to this landscape, because the sky is dark and mountains are clear (may be a little bit too white on the left ?). Details on the mountain are very sharp.
It should be interesting to see the original photo, in colors.
That's a very good photo !

Superb with the luminosity of the scene shining through, the contrast works very well.

Beautiful shot of this amazing range. IMHO, the strong contrast gives a somewhat surreal/artificial feeling to this engrossing scenery.

nice composition and B&W photo.
I would add little bit contrast to the clouds, but that's all, but I am not and expert so that's just my opinion.
Many Regards Jiri

Marvelous too!. So beautifull light. Majestuous in b&w version. A stuning depth and sharpness. But first of all wonderful nature place.

Ansel Adams himself couldn't have done better! Absolutely stunning use of black and white: the grey tones are incredibly well-defined. I suppose that clarity comes from the Hasselblad...
I've been looking through your gallery and website, and I find your style of photography very appealing. Of course, my favorite gallery is the Tibet and Himalayas!
