Photographer’s Note

Perito Moreno Glacier, 80 km from El Calafate, is one of the must see of Argentina and I'd say of the whole world. An incredibly big ice "river" that makes you feel small and leaves you in awe.
You can spend hours in front of it, just looking and listening to its sound, waiting for a piece falling in the lake. You can take a boat that gets you near the ice wall, and you can even walk on it.

This photo was taken from the boat that brought me on the south side of the glacier, where we then had an hour-long ice trek. The south wall is not the most visited one, maybe because the north one gets the direct light of the sun. But it still was an impressive view, and you get closer than on the other side.

No post production excepted some more contrast. The colors are real!! :)

Very impressive! Is the blue color real? The sky looks great. The gletscherfront makes one feel really small.

Hi Sabrina, indeed impressive. The blues are wonderful. It is difficult to realize how big this is without a reference like a boat or person but i umderstand that it is difficult to get it.

I've been dreaming of a trip to Argentina for years and seeing scenes like these make me even keener to visit. I really like the way you've captured the scale of the glacier here, even without any obvious visual references. Particularly on the left, you can really feel it towering over you. Wonderful colours too. I bet you can spend hours there just gazing at it.

Hello Sabrina, it is quite surprise to see that some glacier photo has got quite some attention. Although I personally love glaciers, it generally doesn't apply for TE community. They are often being left out. Glad to see that you have made difference. Great choice for composition with the highest left glacier nicely framing the rest of the photo. Beautiful blue colors, which I have seen many times and like so much. I guess your nice words about travelling on your intro page came true and you really get around. Keep it that way :-) Lucie

se sei appena tornata dalla Patagonia, mi aspetto nei prossimi giorni di vedere tante altre magnifiche foto come questa. E sarà per mè l'occasione di rivivere l'avventura che io ho vissuto due anni fa.
Della tua foto mi piace la composizione avvolgente, le torri di ghiaccio non sono semplicemente verticali ma si sporgono verso di te. Ed il POV basso dalla barca esalta l'imponenza del grande Perito.

Marvelous shot with powerful framing, taking from the boat. The light here and there from the sun on the glacier is also so beautiful.
Perito Moreno Glacier is one of my favorite places to which I'd like to go very much.
