Esta es una foto del comienzo de la ruptura del Glaciar Perito Moreno, tuve mucha suerte de estar allí ese día, el espectáculo es increíble, realmente impresionante... Quizás en la foto no se pueda percibir la dimensión del hecho, pero tan solo imaginen que vieran varios edificios derrumbándose uno tras otro... el ruido casi explosivo, los gigantes pedazos de hielo cayendo en el agua... Estas "paredes" tienen en promedio 60 metros de altura sobre el agua. La ocurrencia del fenómeno no se puede predecir, puede llegar a pasar más de una década para que vuelva a producirse o un año, por lo tanto no es nada fácil presenciarlo.

This is a picture of the beginning of the rupture of the glacier Perito Moreno, I was very lucky to be there that day, the spectacle is incredible, really amazing... Maybe in the picture you cannot perceive the dimension, but just imaging watching many buildings falling down, one after the other... the noise, the ice falling into the water... these "walls" have an average of 60 meters tall, the phenomenon occurs randomly, sometimes it takes more than a decade to occur again, so it is not easy at all to witness it.

I took the picture with a Nikon N70, not a digital camera, so this is a scanned picture of my print.

Hola María, interesante lo que cuentas, la verdad que hay que estar allí para contemplar, y disfrutar en todo su esplendor este acontecimiento natural, sin embargo, creo que la imagen si capta este interesante momento, la composición que incluye los árboles, es acertada para hacernos la idea de la dimenisión del Glaciar, y el tamaño del los trozos de hielo que se desprenden...

Es una hermosa foto.

Hello Maria,
Very good contrast in colours between the river bank and the icy white "monster". It was shot at the perfect time. I guess you did not have very long for perfect focus (or is it because of the scanning process?)

WOW just to be there to witness this would be something else but to catch a photograph as well... You did well to catch this. At first I thought it was a wave. Nicely done.

Se por un lado es lamentable que no haja nada dando una noción de escala, excepto quizás los arboles, no deja de ser una foto impresionante, porque a pesar de todo se consigue imaginar las fuerzas tremendas que hay había.
Lo que le falta (y que nos tanto) estéticamente y técnicamente, le sobra en interés como documentario. Una foto llena del "espíritu del TE"!

Very nice shot, well composed with the warm colors at front and the cool at the background that add depth to the image. An amazing place too.

Hello Maria,
you make me feel ashamed that I know so little about Geography, I would never guess you have a glacier in your country - in my imagination it is really hot there. Anyway - very nice and interesting picture, very good note too.

Es una foto impresionante. Nunca he visto algo parecido y eso que he estado sobre varios glaciares aqui en Canada. La foto podria ser un poco mas grande pero la nitidez y el contrast de colores son muy buenos. Tuviste suerte de poder ver este espectaculo en vivo. Me imagino que fue algo muy dramatico. Gracias.

buen timing para tomar el hielo cayendo. me gusta el POV y como encuadraste la foto. Tal vez le falta un poco de nitides.

Je pense que je préfère celle là. La présence de ce tunnel donne de la profondeur à l'image, et ce bleu!!!
