The most important mountain around Bariloche is Cerro Tronador, an ancient volcano with 3460 meters altitude. Its summit is the borderline between Chile and Argentina. Its higher peaks are covered with a huge white glacier and time to time we can see and heard when part of this ice fall down many meters to the abyss bellow it. When the ice is falling down it is transformed in dust and mixed with the dark rocks and soil, creating a strange especie of ice (the black ice). Here you can see it, in the other side of the little lake, the higher area is composed by rocks and you can see the central area covered with black ice. In the Workshop you can see little pieces of this black ice floating in the water. In my next post you will see the the place around and understand more about this natural show.

O Cerro Tronador com 3.460 metros de altitude, é a montanha mais importante da região de Bariloche. Os cumes deste velho vulcão marcam a fronteira entre Chile e Argentina. Seus picos estão cobertos com um enorme glaciar branquinho, erguido à beira de um grande abismo, vez em sempre este gelo cai lá de cima e vira pó, fazendo um ruído terrível e mesclando-se com o pó e a terra negra, criando uma estranha espécie de gelo (o gelo negro). Nesta imagem você poderá ver o gelo negro amontoado do outro lado do pequeno lago, acima dele está um paredão de rochas comuns. Fiz um workshop para mostrar este gelo boiando nas águas e assim vocês poderão apreciar melhor. Nos próximos dias estarei postando imagens que darão uma noção melhor de como é esta paisagem natural estranha e formidável.
