MONUMENT TO THE SPANISH (DE LOS ESPAŅOLES)
History (Continuation) from previous post
As the ship carrying the statues to complete the monument sank, after crashing against a rock formation, 90 miles from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, new ones were ordered by the Spanish government, which arrived 2 years later
The original bronzes had been under the sea till 1991, when a Brazilian company rescued the sunken sculptures, the president Italmar Franco received them and established a ministerial committee that choose to donate the sculptures to Argentina
The funny following, not end yet:
More than 20 years after, they are still in Brazil, because the Argentina authorities must formally accept the donation, what they forget till ours days
About the Frame
It has the colors of the Argentina´s flag, blue, white, blue

Much like your sunset series, you show us an exercise in lighting conditions, and just how much it can affect the final outcome. What a drastic difference from the previous post, almost a complete opposite of sun and shade. This time of day has certainly proved to hide the details of the monument, while showing more clearing the surrounding fountains...and in a sense, "night and day."
Quite a unique history, and rather surprising that the remaining statues rest in Brazil after all of this time! Thanks for pointing out the frame colors, it adds that little extra personal touch. :) Enjoy the day ahead. Take care.

The last thing I'd ask you to do - is to go on dangerous places around town, on nights and with daylight. Yet, managed beautiful diff. shot with a good backlight control.
Details are shown beatifully, especially with the statues in black around the main subject, the monument.
cheers, buen dia.

I like your idea of comparing two pictures of the same subject taken at different times of the day, which shows you that the best time to take pictures is early morning or late afternoon when the lighting makes objects more 3-dimensional. TFS

I like the way you presented this monument in contre-jour light. Good result!

from this point of view and with the light at a very particular angle, the details have been obscured even more. The monument is outlined superbly, though, and looks just as imposing. The landscape around it looks very intriguing through the play of light and shadow. I like very much the luminosity of the fountains and the clouds and the allusion to the Argentinian flag, the blue of the sky is magnificent. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,

although it is quite dark I like this one very much. We can see a bit more from the surrounding especially the fountains are well lit and adding a nice touch. The monument itself creates a original silhouette set against the bright sky.
I am sorry to hear that after dark the city is not that safe. I remember being a bit scared and that is why I have no blue hour photos from BA but I always wondered is it just me being careful or it is a real threat. My current city is also not very safe, they say it is the worst town in the UK also with the crime, unemployment etc. I took some risks already but I think I will not risk anymore.
Very attractive presentation, thanks for sharing,

A very imposing monument, given that feeling of grandeur from your off-centre composition and the effective leads via the sunlit fountains.
Because the monument is bathed in shadow, a slight, selective lightening might have made the details just a little more accessible.
Still, very well composed and a delightful subject.
Have a great day,

Good attempt out of norm! There's nothing wrong taking picture at midday light at hi-noon and can't find anything negative to say about this and think the lighting has been seen very well here. What I am not seeing is much difference between light and shade which would really bring out the textures in the monument and make the shot much more interesting but you have made the most of the potential here. The deep blue skyscape is full of interest that the contrast difference to the monument is as distinct as it could be. This is an attractive image, like a lot of landscape views, the area of interest is tantalisingly enormous enhanced by your good view point and closeness with some eye catching props around to click the eyes. Quite remarkable with whatever process you use makes a huge difference to your image. Congrats
