MONUMENT TO THE SPANISH (DE LOS ESPAÑOLES)
Location: Sarmiento Av and Libertador Av, in the gardens of Palermo
The Monument to the Spanish (De Los Españoles) is 25 meters high, made with Carrara marble and brass by Spanish sculptor Agustín Querol.
It was a present of the Spanish community on the occasion of the celebrations for the centennial of the May Revolution (May 25, 1910), but was only able to be inaugurated in 1927.
His actual name is Monument to Magna Carta and the Four Argentine Regions, but is popularly known as "From the Spanish".
The history of the "Monument to the Spanish"
In March 1916 the ocean liner Prince of Asturias sank after crashing into a rock formation. In this accident, which killed more than 450 people, were lost in the deep ocean, marble ornaments and statuary brass that composed the monument. Finally, on May 25, 1927 the Count of Amalfi, on behalf of King Alfonso XIII, made the symbolic delivery of the work to the Argentinian President Marcelo Torcuato de Alvear.
Was taken in Summer, as it has a fountain and water on it, there are always children and some preople inside, which is very dangerous because of the electrical wires

Your highly informative note sets this powerful monument into historical and geographical perspective. Exactly one month ago I was at the base of the Christopher Columbus Monument in Barcelona. There, large panels on depict the historical context of Columbus meeting with the Cleric, with Isabella, the discovery of the New World... Clearly this is an edifice with first rate sculptural work, and in the strong grazing sunlight reveals the details of the carving.

This is always some of the most pleasing, but frustrating type of light to work with. It softly warms up the monument and helps showcase it as the main feature, but the diffused natural light converts the shaded areas with a cooler blue hue. It's a tough combination to manage, but you've done well to illuminate the most necessary of details and still show this in a fine manner.
An instance also where placing the subject in the middle of the frame actually suits this best, keeping the negative space in the sky to a balance, and not a distraction. All of the technical details aside, this is a pleasant view of the monument with good notes to apply with the visual, making it all quite nice! :) Have a great day ahead.

Wonderful how the low warm light has pulled all the attention in to the proud standing monument and I think that the pinkish colour reigns in the environment lending itself to stronger impact as depicted. The central composition is strong and there is a feeling of strength and size that comes across with the people milling about. The exposure looks great under this circumstance which also suits the mood pretty well and there's a good sense of depth too. You have done your best with this excellent result, Congrats.

this is a very impressive monument, imposing and elaborate, with many stories to narrate. The distance and the scarce light do not favour a comprehensive viewing od the reliefs and statues but I like very much the romantic and mysterious atmosphere. The deep blue sky creates a wonderful contrast for the monument, the silhouetted park and the shadows. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

Last moment before dusk shed it's light on the monument, while the surrounding is already in relative darkness.
Goods contrast, and fine clear view of the carved art-elements on.
I believe at later hour the place is illuminated - so go once more to show a night version, and/or take a middday shot as well.

Hi Hola dear Maria
Sorry for my late reply as usual.
Another stunning architecture image at all. Very tasteful color and intentional under-exposure setting are very good effcet.
Thanks a lot for your sharing, and have a good day! Takero
PS. Thanks again for message for Olympic in Tokyo, I am so happy.

beautiful monument, how could I miss it!
The light very challenging: it adds a nice touch but for my taste too much is hidden in the shadow. I would definitely come back there again as it has a great potential for example it may look even more impressive at the blue hour.

That is a mighty statue, and the fact that we can see some people walking around its base emphasizes well the tremendous size of it! You captured it under splendid light too, and the history of the monument is fascinating.
Thanks as always

Very well done.
Te deseo una buen dia.
Saludos muy cordiales.

Interesante idea la de poner las dos fotos en horarios distintos, pero la luz de la puesta de sol realmente le da a la foto colores más bonitos! Bellísima imagen!
