Series on my trip to BUENOS AIRES - ARGENTINA'S Capital City - SOUTH AMERICA - From June 3rd to 6th 2010 - # 006 !
EL EDIFICIO KAVANAGH (I) !
THE KAVANAGH SKYSCRAPER (I)!
O EDIFÍCIO KAVANAGH (I) !
Nearby San Martin Square, one finds the KAVANAGH SKYSCRAPER. Inaugurated in 1936, by the architects, Mr. Gregorio Sanchez, Ernesto Lagos and Luis Maria de la Torre! It's 120m high, with 32 floor and 105 apartments. When inaugurated, it was the highest in South America! It's got a realistic style and it was the winner of many national and international prizes!
With this picture, I go on with a new series here at TE, showing some landmarks of BUENOS AIRES, the ARGENTINA'S CAPITAL CITY and the SECOND largest city in SOUTH AMERICA, considered a mix of several european cities (Madrid, London and Paris)!
Although the city has faced many economical crisis in the last decades with obvious decay of life quality in many aspects - today one can find homeless people, beggars, dirt, a certain violence in the streets and slums in its outskirts - the good spirit of the city still remains: Fun at night, with lots of people going out around midnight and going back home with sunlight still exists! Wonderful buildings and monuments are still all over the place!!!
Having some spare time, take a look at the following WS versions, both with slightly different povs, compositions, formats and croppings!

Hello Neyvan, This is a true skyscaper and you have presented it nicely with the trees in the foreground. Apparently the Kavanagh has some vegetation in some of the office balconies or penthouses and they show very well in your picture. A minor point, it appears the building is slightly askew on the horizon. Thanks for your comments on my picture. Regards, Roger

Interestingly, all the pictures with a pretty lantern tower in the center. The building is located in a nice neighborhood with trees. Good POV and nice soft colors.

Essa árvore deixou a foto linda.O céu está com uma cor pastel, mas não deixa de ser bonita.Gostei do formato do prédio.
Abraços e um feliz final de semana

I like natural colours here.

Un POV très bien choisi pour mettre en évidence ce haut bâtiment. La végatation à l'avant-paln constitue un beau cadrage naturel et donne une belle profondeur à l'image.
