Photographer’s Note

The magnificent Iguazu Falls at sunrise.

I thought about calling this 'The last photo I ever took' since it seems inconceivable that one could set up a tripod here without being swept over the precipice. But I did manage to get REALLY close with some creative tripod work. I used PS to remove an area of flare in the main cascade and did some minor contrast enhancements, but otherwise this is exactly how it looked 'in camera'.

awesome, the sense of power with the water going over the edge in the foreground, and the rising spray coming up is just great, combined with the setting sun, must have been great to be there.

having seen this wonder of nature I can say that your photo is very close to reality. It gives a wonderful impression of the grandezza of this place.
Technically seen it´s A+ too, of course, with your equipment...

Hi Michael, that is a remarkable image. Not only compositionally, with the water close by showing the power and speed of the entire waterfall, but also outstanding light and colour. A precarious place to put your H2D!. cheers, Steve

As you wrote, how could you set up your tripod and shoot this one ? We're right in the cascade, and could almost see water moving through the picture. Oh wait, I'm already wet.
