Picheuta old Bridge Photo

Photographer’s Note

These are the ruins of the Picheuta Bridge. This brigge was used by one of the columns of the Exercito de los Andes (Andean Army) in the liberation of Chile (1817).
Near this spot was the Patriot camp, which was discovered by a Spanish recon party from Chile. This reconoissance patrol had to be persecuted and captured in the high mountains by a platoon of Baqueanos (native explorers) before it could give the alarm to the Spanish Royal Army.
The Picheuta Bridge is today an touristic attraction, and the steam it used to cross now has changed its flow some yards. Its and historic reliq.

Hola amigo Patricio.
Excelente fotografía, el puente en ruinas es muy bonito y antiguo. Pero veo en la foto que el río cambió su camino como dejando el puente a un lado... en el recuerdo, como si dijese al río te he vencido y ahora pasas a mis pies. Buen trabajo amigo. Un saludo.

Hello Patricio,
Nice picture , very well composed. These people touring of the ruin of the bridge are on certain the organized group (students?). This young people surely is tired a march and has a rest now contemplating impressions from the all day. This what me straight off talked into this picture, is then the splendid light and very goods, forced in very much composition.
