Photographer’s Note
Railway bridge located in the vicinity of Los Penitentes winter resort, located in the Cordillera de Los Andes, Mendoza, Argentina and a few kilometers from the border with Chile.
Formerly, these lines ran on the train Trasandino uniting the two countries, stopped operating in 1984.
His route began in the city of Los Andes (Chile) and rose through the drawer of the Aconcagua River and Juncal to Las Cuevas, where the main tunnel crossing to Argentina. Then, along the rivers and Las Cuevas Mendoza, came to the city of the same name through a route of lesser slope and much less rugged. Its construction was a mammoth effort of engineering, finance and diplomacy, because two countries agreed to back then were in dispute by defining their borders.
