Photographer's Note

After we left the city of Mendoza we travelled over 200 klm's & found ourselves on a high mountain pass which was horrendous - we reached the '' FRONTIER '' at the highest point which was around 4000 metres above sea level & the wind was howling.
There were other visitors that had travelled on the same road as us for the sole purpose of visiting the '' Monument of Cristo Redemtor '' ( redemption ) I will upload a photo of the Cristo Redemtor some other time.
After prayers & photographs were taken by the visitors the area soon became deserted & for the tourists they went back the way they came from - on the Argentine side.
I wish we had done the same as the road going down the pass towards the Chilean Border was really a nightmare.
We never imagined how bad the road was going to be & my brave husband did remarkably well especially with a wife who is afraid of heights.
The day was a disaster we got to the border only to be turned back - missing a document - not blaming anyone here just one of those things - our only Saving Grace was we had the main road to travel on - heading BACK towards Mendoza.
We detoured away from Mendoza towards our next stop for the night - that day we travelled around 700 klm's. '' the scenery of course SPECTACULAR ''
