PUNA IS A TERM TO DESCRIBE A TYPE OF GEOGRAPHICAL TERRAIN OR REGION, NORMALLY CLOSE TO THE CORDILLERA DE LOS ANDES AND AT HIGH ALTITUDE. FROM MEMORY THE ROAD THAT YOU SEE IS AT APROX. 3600 METERS ABOVE SEA LEVEL.
THE ROAD GOES PASS SOME SALT LAKES AND EVENTUALLY REACHES THE CHILEAN BORDER.

Hi Gus,
el paisaje de la puna que nos muestras en esta toma es simplemente impresionante. Me gusta la débil luz que ilumina la llanura, y su fuerte contraste con el cielo azul y las nubes, con los que has creado una composición espléndida y muy llamativa.
La línea diagonal de la carretera, que cruza esta llanura, es un eficaz complemento geométrico que nos indica la huella humana en medio de este paisaje natural y casi salvaje.
Excelente trabajo.

What a marvellous place, the plain seems absolutely endless. Is this what they call the pampas? Or is that something else altogether? The clouds looks amazing, they, like the plain, seem to go on forever. Superb textures and colours. The light is well-handled too

Hello Gus!

The depth of field is amazing here. The road on the left accentuates this effect, leading the eye gently towards the horizon. The clouds are great too, looking kind of 3D. A lovely, quiet scene.

Hi Gus,

You're capturing well this landscape by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see th wide plain, surrounding mountains and the road expanded straightly. And, it's effective for a lot of clouds in the sky, too. This seems to one of the typical spectacle of South America.

Good brief infor guiding us through, It's a composition with the use of the fg details and the road as scale reference accentuating the feel of depth and vastness of the landscape at the same time. With the brilliant blue sky and the wonderful clouds, we guess you are already at high altitude! Lovely that you have managed to inject some stunning contrasty colors into the scene to bring it to life. Intriguing shot as this gives us a glimpse into another unknown place by adding some flavours into to this shot

Very original, beautiful landscape from SUSQUES. The views from the road must be fantstic. Pity that we can see yet argentinian roads from Google Street view. Maybe someday in the future?.Thanks for posting

I would nver have guessed that large plain is so far above sea level. Not many places on earth wtih such. Simple landscape gives strong feeling of desolation. Nice half cloudy sky.

Hi Gus,

Argentina - Magnificent landscape & it goes on & on for many miles - I like the fact that you can see the road cutting through the mountains it gives one a sense of just how vast some of this region is.
The contrast of the natural colours is really beautiful & your perspective is EXCELLENT.
