'' SALT LAKE '', a photo from Jujuy, North

Photographer's Note

A visit to Argentina is a must on everyones travel plans - what a magnificent destination with such incredible sights to see - mind you to get to a lot of these amazing places one has to be prepared to travel miles.
The closest small country town en route to '' Salina Grandes '' [ Salt lake ] is called '' Purmamarca '' which is a nice little town to visit we stayed there overnight to break the trip - then - travelling on the next day over the wonderful Mountains we reached this magnificent place...

Hi Dawn - I've always wanted to visit one of these salt flats - I'm more likely, of course, to wind up in the one in Utah, but nevertheless. You chose a great POV here, with this line (a speed test lane marker, perhaps?) taking us through the shot to the mountains beyond. Thanks!

something different in style,than your previous few shots,but equally beautiful and having its own charm.Such landscapes like this one are extremly picturesque and you were able to present this beauty perfectly to us.Haha at first I thought it was ice-it´s so clear and shiny.You framed the scene excellently.Also colors you captured are delightful.

this is a great place to make photo, you chose a good POv to compone your shot, very nice tones and a beautiful sky...very good dept too, there is a little noice, espacialy in the sky, but is easy to take out with apposite software like denoise or other one...

Hello Dawn,
The track across the salt flats makes a superb pointer and helps give the image immense depth. I like the patterns formed by the caked slat and the predominant cool blue tones.

Hi Dawn,
in spite of a bit of noise in the sky, your composition is powerful and spectacular, because of this amazing landscape of the salt lake.
I like the image depth and the dynamic perspective of lines on the ground, which leads our look towards the mountains and the photogenic clouds in background.

An intriguing question, Dawn, about the strait carved line in the salty surface? how come?, the rest is a beautiful view with good DOF till far in the horizon, over the mountains.
Also, wonderfully balanced the white in picture.

Hi Dawn,
This is a very pleasant moonscape, and a very surreal image. I have always been fascinated by these salt flats, but I have to be honest and say I was never familiar with them in Argentina, so a trekearth special here, teaching about the world through photography :)
You chose a great point of view here, it looks like a canal in an icy landscape even though it's quite the opposite. Beautifully different shot and fascinating subject, thank you.

You sound to have had an exciting journey and this photograph must bring the memories flooding back. It is like nothing that I hae ever seen before. I like the way you have used the pathway to give a fine sense of depth, as well as acting as a strong guide from the f/g to the distant b/g mountains.

impossibile non commentare queste tue foto aventi per oggetto queste immense saline argentine.
Un ottimo soggetto che hai saputo sgfruttare a fondo per fare degli scatti dfi grande suggestione, grazie anche alla grande luce ambientale, ad un cielo azzurro e a un paesaggio circostanze di grande respiro.
Tu ci hai messo del tuo sfruttando a fondo la nitidezza ed impostando contrasto e luminosità nella giusta misura, e, ovviamente scegliendo il miglio punto di ripresa.
Sono scatti che non passano inosservati e bene hai fatto a condividerli nel sito.

Good presentation of this salt flat. The straight lines give deepness and lead the eye to the mountains. I like the clouds over in the sky. Australia is a long way from Quebec. I hope you like what you will see.

Oooh la la, a very attractive photo of one of the wonders of the world. The colours and depth are sensational and the silvery blue reflections are pure magic. There is a little colour noise in the photo which could probably be dealt with in Photoshop of Neat Image. Excellent shot, is it ok if I add it to my theme on Salt Pans?

This is a picture with long perspective and great depth afforded by the strong diagonal path which leads the eye into the far horizon. Interesting shot of strange landscape covered with salt. A very eye catching shot and lovely sheen of light on the surface that make this image special. Light management is splendid with enough clarity and contrast. A strong image and you have skillfully captured. Well done

I visited similar salt lakes in chile and bolivia and they are amazing. I liked the way you used the lines in the ground sending our eyes to the distance. good light, framing and sharpness. hugs

This image has captured my attention the first time I visited your gallery. A good use of the (runway-looking) line here, leading our eyes to enjoy the mountains and clouds on the horizon. The DOF is great and the picture can easily be mistaken for (just as successful) winter scenery!

A flooded landing strip, an ice skating rink, a half frozen lake would be my guesses before "Salt Lake". I like the leading lines, the big skies.
