Photographer's Note
If you look carefully at right along the shoreline under the overhanging rock, you will spot an Australian fur seal. These animals were hunted almost to extinction in the 19th century. They are making a comeback and are smart enough to know that sharks don't like swimming through the rough surf, so they make their colonies inside the surfline around Rottnest Island. This is Dyer Island near the south east coast of Rottnest Island, taken from a tour boat that goes right round the island.

Bonjour, cher Chris,
Outre la beauté simple de ces blocs de pierre, nous pouvons apercevoir effectivement cet étrange animal faire une apparition.
Ces roches dont une partie forment des strates sont belles à l'état sauvage.
Amitiés.

I'm not sure about the title of this as the seal actually makes this like a "Where's Wally" shot. It is, however, wonderfully sharp and crisp.

Hi Chris
a beautifully layered composition with such wonderfully sharp textures and contrasting elements. The fg shadow works really well as it makes the sunlighted areas all the more prominent. I love the way the seal seems to be looking at something that is out of shot.
Have a splendid weekend - Brian.

Hi Chris,
The principle of the thirds is respected, the sky the island and the sea. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the rocks. The afternoon light is bringing out thge beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

Ciao dear Chris,
beautiful image of this place where the nature is still uncontaminated. The perfect sharpness allows us to appreciate all the details of these rocks overlooking the sea, but above all are fantastic the tones of green and blue of the water. Great work, accompanied by interesting notes, sincere congratulations!
Ciao, have a nice weekend!

Bonjour Chris
Je ne suis pas certain de ce que tu voulais nous montrer. Personnellement, je ne vois qu'un tas de roches qui brulent au soleil.Par contre, j'aime beaucoup la ligne turquoise dans l'eau.
Bon weekend

Hello Chris,
Indeed, I see the animal, a fur seal on the right. The rocky landscape is small, but surprising and interesting. The light, colors and sharpness are excellent. Bravo.
Have a nice day

Have a good WE!

nice the view of this part of the stony island, with the different colours of the blue to contrast perfect with its whiteness of the rocks.A good balanced shot.

Au format TE, la "bête" n'est pas facile à repérer! On admire surtout la beauté de ces rochers très bien éclairés et la belle composition de l'image utilisant les bandes du ciel et de la mer de très jolie façon.
Amicalement

Hi Chris,
I look carefully and I am not quite sure if I see this seal. Nice animals and how good that they are appearing again. Nice rocks and beautiful emerald strip of water.

Hi Chris
Oh yes I see him sitting there sunning himself near the rocks. What a life eh? Except of course for being second course for a shark's dinner. Beautiful colours and contrasts, this could be the Mediterranean (were it not for our furry friend). Love the levels of colour and texture and that water looks so limpid I feel like having a dive. Thanks for sharing, have a great Sunday.
Warm regards

Hello Chris,
a lovely shot from a a boat that wasn't very steady. There's great sharpness and clarity, though, and the fur seal is clearly spotted despite its tricky skin tone. I like very much the diverse and contrasting layers of colours and textures and the way they absorb or reflect this wonderful light. Well done and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely week,
Ourania
