Photographer's Note
The Three Sisters are a rock formation, formed by sandstone erosion, in the Blue Mountains Jamison Valley of NSW, Australia. Their names are Meehni, Wimlah and Gunnedoo. The commonly told legend of the Three Sisters is that three sisters lived in the Jamison Valley as members of the Katoomba tribe. They fell in love with three men from a neighboring tribe (the Nepean tribe), but their marriage was forbidden by tribal law. The brothers were not happy to accept this law and so decided to use force to capture the three sisters. A major tribal battle ensued, and the sisters were turned to stone by an elder to protect them, but he was killed in the fighting and no one else was able to turn them back. The Three Sisters rock is close to town of Katoomba.

Ciao Miro,
Have a nice day
Best regards

Hello Miro,
I love these tales, which have been handed down over generations, and were intended to make sense out of the world.
Your pov uses the f/g rocks to great advantage, giving immediate interest and helping to establish a sense of depth, which is vast. The shadows from the clouds assist in revealing the surface relief, its many humps and bumps!
The sky is delightful and I can understand why you have wanted to include it but, my instinct would have been to crop some of it to prevent the horizon being so central. Just a thought!
Have a great w/e,
Bev :-)

Hi Miro,
Lovely lanscape photo. I like the sky and the forested mountain ahead. Great scale and colours. It is a pity that the rock on the left is out of focus.

Hello Miro
I love this picture of the `Three Sisters`
My husband and I have visited this area many times when holidaying in Aus.You`r delightful legend is quite different to the one we have been told.
Our`s goes like this.
A magic man ( called a `Bunnyip`)living in the mountains had three beautiful daughters, and when he had to leave home for a few days he was afraid they would be kidnapped by a wicked medicine man ,so using his magic baton ,turned them into three stones. On his way home he was attacked by robbers who stole his magic baton. So he was unable to turn his daughters back to life. And when you visit the Blue Mountains you can hear his pitiful cries as he searches for his magic baton.
Best Wishes

Hi Miro,
The Three Sister are a popular area of the Blue Mountains, a place I have visited in October 2004. The wideness of the area is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the scenery. The quality of the light is enhancing the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

Spectacular view and a lovely legend for the three rocks. At my opinion the clouds are the real eyecatchers on this composition making the depth even greater.

Hi Miro,
Fine range of colors in this photo, the dramatic blue sky contrasts so well with the earth tones and soft light. This is a beautiful spot and an impressive look over the landscape. Well positioned to capture the moment with good clarity. Perhaps a bit of a crop to move the horizon from the direct center of the frame, but otherwise, very well done! Informative text also, thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Jason

Hi Miro
This must be one of the famous landmarks Downunder which I have not seen before and of the more interesting episode, so the Three Sisters were turned to stones by their elder so the story goes. This is so impressive view with lovely colours thats one heck of a woodland - forest nice the way the light is hitting the rocks and also along the edge in the distance. There's a geat sense of scale and height in the composition and having more of the fantastic vast wide open sky is justified, the moving clouds have created a diff kind of drama up there. A mouth watering shot and your fine effort is so well paid off. My congrats.
Ps: Thznks for your kind words, and most welcomed to Changi Airport.
Best regards
