Photographer's Note
821 Pacific Highway, Chatswood, Sydney, NSW. This high-rise housed the NSW headquarters of TAFE when I worked there as a lecturer in Newcastle. I had several boring meetings in this building, but realised it had some photographic potential, so slipped away for a few minutes to take some photographs: I don't suppose anyone noticed.
I was reminded of this image, and inspired to upload it by a recent posting by Juan Ferragut (JFS) of MACBA in Barcelona, so this is a kind of "homage". Or copycat posting.
Shot on film and the neg scanned @ 3500 ppi on a Nikon film scanner (which gives a 100 mb file with 16 bit depth (for the tecchies).

Hello Will
On the thumbnail it looks as the Egyptian pyramides! Good creation by looking up and taking the best the the architecture and giving a strange picture, so eye catching, as an alien one!

Hi Will,
Indeed we are neighbours in ideas this week, the sharp graphical elements are so abtract here. The use of light and angle gives this an almost animated look,,stunner. I know Chatswood well as a Sydney boy, and the triangles..well they remind me a little of the sails of the Opera House and the harbour boats..appropriate for Sydney.
Cheers

Hello Will,
This picture defies belief: firstly, it is of incredible quality for having been scanned from a 35mm negative and, secondly, I just find it impossible to believe that over a hundred people have looked at this and only four have so far made any remarks about it.
The geometric composition is excellent, the details and sharpness are second to none and the exposure and colours are perfect. But, again, as with all really wonderful pictures, whether they be photographs or paintings, it is the lighting which excels here - from the wonderful highlight at top left to the glorious sheen on the surfaces of the roof details.
Stunning!
Kind Regards,
John.

Wow, isn't that strange: as soon as I saw this shot, I thought of our Juan. Your composition is almost Calatravic! An original POV, beautifully composed, using the points of the building to help you with the strong sun. Love it. How would this go in B&W? Then you truly would be chanelling Juan :)
Cheers and congrats

Hello Will,
This is the sort of shot that I enjoy very much. You have given us a puzzle with the geometrical shapes and simple metallic colours. Clever work.
Best wishes, Ann

Hello Will,
you have picked exact the right time to slip away, to capture the sun on this very point. A very nice blue gradient sky (donīt know how to say it in english), did you have to work on it to get rid of reflections in the lenses, or are the small reflections on the left the only ones?
Kind regards,
Elvira

Hi Will!
Love the abstract and the graphical effect present in this photograph of yours. A little bit of cropping and tilting and rotating would fix this. Anyway, a good find and creative way of presenting this structure! my compliments!
best regards,
Mat

Hello Will,
This is an extremely creative work, I admire the way you have composed a vertical view and made it resemble like a landscape scene of modern pyramids and concrete flooring!

Hello,
I visit some architectur photos blogs and I noticed the full below point of view is often worth.
It is demonstrated here as a way to get the triangles and looking like pyramids in this urbanscape.
The point of view is doing the shot here.
Yves.

Hi Will,
Seems that your boring meeting paid off after all! Like this shot as its so futuristic. At first glance, I thought it was some sort of NASA project in outer space. Love it.
Regards,
Eugene
