Photographer’s Note
I've had these two seperate pictures for a while, and on their own they are just bog standard pictures of Uluru. However, i think that when you put them together, it demonstrates just how much the rock does actually change colour with the setting sun. The bottom piture was taken about 30 minutes after the top one, and no post processing of the colours has taken place.
*update* Due to the positive notes mainly regarding the second shot, i have posted the original in 800x600 format for those that would like to see it in greater detail here

Good idea - I fully agree with your note. The 2nd one has the nicer sky, but the two of thm together make it different - well done !

The colour changes are truly amazing. It is hard to believe there is less than an hour between the two images. It's really good to see the two together. Also really good notes.

incredible that it was just 30 minutes after..
your diptic composition is very interesting, beautiful colors, specially in the bottom one the strong red of the mountain and the huge cloudy sky creates a magic secenery.
Nice work

Sure is an inspiring place. I remember the feeling of grandness and awe looking at this great rock in the middle of nowhere. Watching the sunset always atracts many people which kind of spoils the effect but nevertheless this photo brings back good memories. Very nicely presented. One thing only- The bottom photo could do with some sharpening.

I just love these photos. I came away from Uluru with the greatest memories of my life but some disappointing photos :-/ These are what I wish I had taken! Magnificent colours.
