Photographer's Note
The door to the Co-op store in Dillon's Bay on the island of Erromango in Vanuatu. I arrived with a small group at the Dillon's Bay airport to find not a single person here, not even a spectator. The Australian pilot gave us a knowing grin & wished us good luck before taking off. Our transport, the only vehicle in Dillons Bay, arrived after a hour & half - to profuse apologies. Evidently they had had a puncture on the way out. Dillon's Bay is little visited, yet it was here that the Missionary John Williams was killed & eaten by the locals in 1839. Incidently the islanders formally apologised to William's great-great-grandson in 2009.
The small Co-op store was not open when I took the photo - on Fujichrome slide film - but I rather liked the colours. Photo has been digitised.

Hi Neil
my sort of shot this. Simple and colourful yet so tantalising and effective. Love the textures and mix of tones here, so compelling and beautiful in its own way. Superb imagery!
Have a great weekend - regards Brian.

Hi Neil
A strong eye puller and effective play of strong lines, shapes and colors to greatest effect . Dark blue interplays with fiery red to make it standout so strikingly. Sharp, the treatment works very well. Congrats, TFS
Best regards

Hello Neil,
Well like yourself I like the old doors etc; etc;
This old door most certainly has the '' WOW FACTOR '' it is very colourful - there are some very clever & talented artists in our world that create wonderful works of art out of nothing - simple doors coloured in this way to me are exciting.
Congratulations on the clarity of this photo & on the interesting notes.
Kindest regards,
Dawn.

Hello Neil,
While you have many photos that I would like to discuss, this is one that fits very nicely into the group theme Old Doors. The theme is comprised of old gates, elegant gates, rustic gates... The brilliant colors immediately captures one's eye. Your note is also engaging and informative.
Warm regards,
Bulent
