Photographer's Note

The trilithon known as the Ha'amonga 'a Maui is found on the island of Tongatapu, main island in the Kingdom of Tonga in the South Pacific. It was built by the 11th Tui Tonga (paramount chief of the island) in the early 13th century, probably as an entrance to the Royal Compound, although some say it was used for astronomical observation, but there is little real evidence to support this. Whatever the reasons for its construction it makes an interesting photo.
