Photographer’s Note
English
The International Date Line sits on the 180º line of longitude in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and is the imaginary line that separates two consecutive calendar days.
I took this picture while flying from Sydney to Los Angeles in my camera the date is 3 of December but as we where flying over Samoa (as close it can be) the real date was 2 December.
Tonga and Samoa have the same time but are (1) day apart, as Samoa is in the Western Hemisphere, on the opposite side of the International Dateline from Tonga.

Hello Marco
This is really a nice photo, lots of great colours that almost seems to create a palette of it's own.
The note is very informative and also makes great sense in this photo as you seem to fly from a bright place, tomorrow, and heading into the past.
The photo is slightly grainy but it doesn't matter.
Great job and Merry Christmas

Beautiful new day, Marco
Though I've usually seen many plane window shots like yours but you've made it an extra-ordinary shot.
With a dramatic colors in the sky, the 180 degree longtitude date line and your useful note made it the most interesting plane window shot I've ever viewed.
Thank you for sharing,

Hi Marco
The sky is most beautiful when you watch it from the plane, especially the sunsets. And this shot confirms this.
Perfectly captured!

Hi Marco
I like the depth added by the 2 layers of clouds. Wonderful colour, lighting, pov & sharpness. The graphism added by the wing tip & 2 exhausts is excellent, with good backlighting. Tfs!

There isn't one part of this shot that doesn't hold the eye. Captivating, primarily through the wide range of beautifully saturated pastel tones. Rises well to the top of the many plane window shots on show here. Great sense of place too.

Hi Marco,
Great story behind the shot. Photo itself is really beautiful, the composition, clouds and especially colors. And the wing is an important part of composition, it is not distracting but adds to the photo.

Bogdan

Hi Marco,
This type of pictures has become my favorites every time. Colors' harmony in the picture give adequate message to understand ambiance and dateline. I still wonder how did you manage to take this picture in the airplane ? Because of my question; in Türkiye , taking a picture during the flight is not allowed by flight attendants. :(

Very interesting post, if you look at this photo through the eyes of an artist you can perhaps even see the so called inaginary date line. Great colors, good job overall.

Interesting Note along with a colorful photo full of intersting light and textures. The wing is needed to make the image I think. Without it, it would have been difficult to find something to focus on:)
